My Contests

A possible episode for Stargate SG-1.

"The Asgard has agreed to protect this planet, through a treaty with the Goa'uld," stated O'Neil. "What about you?"

"Though we have many more ships than the Asgard, not even Thor knows the extent of our empire and how much we have to cover. I have my flagship, the Atlantias II, a stellar cruiser, and one carrier with its fleet of fighters and interceptors. I absolutely must find our people. In humanoid form, they are vulnerable to the Goa'uld and other species. I have found some on your planet earth, which is why I was here to use your gate to get back to the main colony that you discovered. The entire network of gates must be patrolled by our ships to protect any of the colonies that might still be intact. I have to return to that planet first, the largest of our colonies was there. We cannot be in every place at the same time," answered Zuros.

"Is there anything that you can do?" asked Carter.

"I am reluctant to trust such a race as yours. You do not even have the gate setup where it is supposed to be, here at this site, available to all the public," replied Zuros.

"Perhaps we can arrange a trade. We can give you access to what we have found at various gates to help you find your people," offered Jackson.

"Perhaps," answered Zuros. "I can guarantee one thing. If the Goa'uld are responsible for the death or enslavement of our people, a total extermination shall be visited upon them, personally!"

"That would be good!" O'Neill chimed in.

"You know that is in violation of our agreement, section 3, paragraph 4 of the ‘Treaty of The Four' signed by your government and ours," inserted Thor.

"You are mistaken Thor. That agreement expired when you failed to respond to our need for help, section 147, paragraph 12," returned Zuros.

"I do not think we will make any progress by going over past mistakes," added Carter. "And I hope you realize that there is a distinction between the Goa'uld and the Tokrah."

"I make no such distinction, if you are referring to the ones that told you that I was a Goa'uld and that I deserve to die," Zuros responded.

"I believe there must have been a misunderstanding somewhere," Jackson stated.

"I think that Colonel O'Neill has the policy not to trust any of these worms, regardless of Tokrah or Goa'uld, is this not so Colonel?" Zuros asked.

"Well, I think that this was my first..." O'Neill attempted.

"Is this not so?" Zuros repeated.

"Okay, I do not feel comfortable with Tokrah either, but..." O'Neill again attempted.

"Enough said," Zuros said.

"You must understand, we are desperate, we are under threat from the Goa'uld. We need to find the technology to defend ourselves," stated Jackson.

"You are already a dead people," replied Zuros. "You argue amongst yourselves, you kill each other, you mistrust each other. You already enough technology to defeat the Goa'uld right now. You have many of their weapons. They have the one thing that will defeat you, your lack of unity. Just shear numbers could assault even the most fortified Goa'uld places, your cunning has already taken many Goa'uld weapons, but you lack the will to cooperate together to defeat them. You have taken even a great mother ship from the Goa'uld. Just that you even will not work together within your own nation, you have a Navy, Marines, an Air Force and an army. Separate, you have nothing, together you have more than enough. Choose just one Goa'uld planet and assault it with 100 troops. If 100 does not work, send 1000. If 1000 does not work, send 10,000 and so on," stated Zuros.

"We cannot afford to lose that many from our fighting men," stated the Colonel.

"This is why you will never win. You do not have the will to fight the war that you must in order to win. How many will die when the Goa'uld mother ships arrive over earth and begin firing at your cities?" Zuros asked.

"Not just millions, but billions will die and you will have no infrastructure to manufacture even a wooden stick to fight with," inserted Zuros before the Colonel could answer.

"What can we do?" asked Carter.

"Set up the gate in the open, place artillery or missile launchers in front of it. The Goa'uld do not keep their shields up at all times, target a base or a ship and blow it up. Take one planet, use their own weapons against them. Send one of your remotes with a nuclear warhead aboard it, send it in, close the gate and wait for the bang. You have the technology to make a clean bomb with no residual radiation. You can recruit your own people on other planets, train them to use Goa'uld weapons. You have friends that are Jaffa, infiltrate the Goa'uld ships to sabotage the shields and weapons. You have the technology to wipe them out, use it. Does it really matter how many die to free your planet as long as you remain free to fight another day? You have seized control of a transport ring before, send a large amount of explosives into a Goa'uld ship and blow it up," suggested Zuros.

"It sounds good in theory," stated O'Neill.

"It is not just theory. I have lived it. A powerful enemy of ours nearly wiped us out. We transformed ourselves from our original form. We left our planets, gave up all that we had. We did this in order to live and fight another day. We were once amphibian humanoids. We had colonies on many planets, including earth. The one you call Atlantis was once such a colony that we were forced to abandon. Our enemy gained some of our own technology. They followed us into space all the way to our home planet. But, now we are back. One by one we took out our enemy, as we gained one advantage after another. It took a long time to fight against a superior enemy, but we won. We won because we worked together, we won because the enemy thought of us as if we were nothing. They did not believe that we could even take one of them. They all died still thinking that they were superior. The Goa'uld are the same. All bullies all over the universe are the same, they are cowards when it comes to the real fight. You have much more than we did. We only had a few thousand in numbers, and they were more numerous than the grains of sand. You have the Tokrah, the Jaffa rebels and many humans on planets all over the Goa'uld domain. We had no allies, even Thor's people had left us," continued Zuros.

"You know he is right," Carter said.

"Every time you take a Goa'uld planet, there would be Jaffa there that would join you," Zuros stated.

"It is time to take the fight to the Goa'uld," asserted Teal'c.

"Do you not remember the many times you confronted the Goa'uld? When they use their personal shields from your weapons, the Jaffa are not shielded. Take out the Jaffa, and the Goa'uld leaves, will not fight by himself. Without the Jaffa, these worms are nothing but worms. You even found out that a knife can penetrate their personal shields. When have you really used this fact? Ever thought of running up behind them, tossing a grenade inside this shield and running away? Ever thought of using this technique with the mother ships also? The race on your planet known as Native American Indians used this technique against a superior enemy with the Cavalry, heavily laden down with guns, bullets, supplies and such. Your very own history has a saying, the best defense is a good offense, does it not?" asked Zuros.

"He is right again sir," stated Carter.

"We have a planet to take back, Trahk-Noh-Rah, the one I was on when you came to talk to me. I need to go back and take this planet back. I believe more worms are on their way there. Now go away. Dok We! Your gate has been returned. Do not come to this place, it belongs to us. Do not be concerned with the many ships that may come here and disturb your planet, it is not of your concern!" ordered Zuros.

The SG team looked around and saw that the smaller gate was now gone.

"We wish to assist in some way," stated Carter.

"And what could you possibly do to help us?" asked Zuros.

"We may have information on your people, we traveled to many planets in the stargate system. We have translated a lot of information that may offer a great deal of clues to the location of your colonies," stated Jackson.

"Perhaps. You may be right," spoke Zuros.

"First I must clear that planet of the worms, then we can look at the ruins and see what we find. Perhaps I can delay the cleansing of your planet after all," replied Zuros.

"Cleansing?" asked O'Neill.

"To remove the infestation of humanoids," answered Zuros.

"You can't do that?" declared Carter.

"If I find value, then perhaps we can discuss the matter," Zuros answered. "We need to return to Trahk-Noh-Rah. Now."

"Let's go!" stated O'Neill.

The team entered the gate activated by Zuros using his wristband. They returned to the planet and found the technicians all seated in one place under guard by Jaffa and more armor clad warriors. Zuros ordered the release of the technicians and ordered the warriors to assemble for the upcoming battle. The team walked with Zuros to a large open field that looked empty. A group of armored warriors began lining up in the field. The line extended for several hundred feet when they had all been collected. A group of Jaffa that had joined these warriors also grouped together to the side of this line. The SG Team noticed a large number of Goa'uld ships in the distance. Apparently, these ships had not detected this group on the ground, or they decided to attack with ground troops. The field they were in had several rolling hills in long lines. The line of warriors were standing on one of these lines of hills. The SG Team was also standing on this hill. A slightly taller one was between them and the approaching Goa'uld and their Jaffa army. As the Jaffa approached they began to fire on the line. The warriors held up their shields and then lowered their lances as the bursts hit their shields with no effect.

The Jaffa continued to advance. They came to a stop and continued to fire. They approached with caution a bit further. They stopped firing for a moment. Just then armored warriors arose out of the sand behind the hills in very large numbers. Now the long line of warriors was duplicated fifty times producing thousands. They all arose at once and formed lines.

As they finished, they all yelled, "Dahhhh-Kray" and hit their shields with their lance producing a deafening metallic thud. The lines in the rear began moving to the flanks of the Goa'uld army, marching to a cadence. The cadence including phrases and in between the phrases the warriors would again strike their lances against their shields. They marched around the flanks. The Jaffa began to fire again while withdrawing. The Goa'uld ordered the Jaffa to advance, but they refused.

Then the warriors began to fire, using their lances. Jaffa fell quickly. The Goa'uld that were ordering the Jaffa ran to their ships and left. The warriors then all quickly began to leave through the doorways that opened up. The SG Team watched as most of them left. The Jaffa that had joined them and a few of the warriors remained behind.

"You had to destroy all of them?" asked Teal'c.

"Who told you they were dead?" asked Zuros.

Zuros went over to one of them, remove their snake head helmets to reveal the Jaffa, and finding them only unconscious. He woke one of them to show Teal'c that they were not dead. Zuros told Teal'c that he now had the opportunity to recruit as many that would fight against their former masters. Many of them did join as they had seen what they were up against and the inability of the Goa'uld to deal with this new threat. It proved to many that they were not gods. There were those that still clung to their loyalty to their masters. These were taken to ships to be placed into custody in a prison on a desolate planet.

"Now we need to go to those ruins and discover what has happened to our people," stated Zuros. "It is not just our people we are looking for. When the enemy of ours began to defeat us, we transformed ourselves into humanoids to avoid them. The vast array of knowledge was separated into many repositories and guarded by a new warrior that we were developing, force shields and cloaking devices. These repositories were also hidden in areas difficult to find even without the cloaking devices. The knowledge is basically useless without the knowledge assembled together. It is like a puzzle. It contains the means to restore our Empire and to store our culture. We will need this knowledge in order to fully defeat our enemy."

"I thought you said they were destroyed?" asked Carter.

"No. Only on our home world and the colonies in that part of the universe. In these colonies, they may still exist."

"We have found a new being that is used by the Goa'uld and also found a structure that we believe to be of the Ancients. We have run into new beings that cannot apparently be stopped," informed O'Neill.

"Yes, the warriors of our enemies were very powerful. They had the ability to actually drain the life force from beings," stated Zuros. "They were able to attack so quickly, we did not have the time to gather our resources to fight. We quickly created these repositories and hid our colonies to ensure that our people survived. It took even our own scientists a long time to determine who these enemies were and what technology they were using. A defense was possible, but we needed the time to formulate it. Much of our technology was not in use, as we were at peace. We had no vast array of technicians and scientists to design weapons, even though the knowledge was known," explained Zuros.

"It seems that you are in a similar position as the Asgard was in protecting Earth," reasoned O'Neill.

"The difference is that we are not of any position that we should save or destroy your planet yet. We have to decide which we will choose. Perhaps we should just do nothing and let things fall as they will," announced Zuros.
